Join us on our quest to create the world’s most profound rum. Meet us at Renegade Rum distillery for a tour around our technological marvel, and to learn about our utterly unique production process based around terroir: the influence of soil, microclimate and place on the flavours of rum.
As you join us up at Conference you’ll be welcomed by a sea of sugarcane and, at its heart, discover the industry’s most pioneering distillery. You will then commence an exploration of the extraordinary set-up that facilitates the creation of our terroir-driven, field-by-field cane juice rum – learning about how we apply our wine making methodology and Scotch whisky experience to create compelling and profound spirits.
You’ll become familiarised with our fastidious approach to distilling cane – the very source of rum’s extraordinary natural flavour – terroir by terroir, and variety by variety, from 13 different farms around the Grenada in order to capture the plethora of flavours that Grenada’s soils and microclimates have to offer.
To ensure we extract as much flavour as possible from the cane, we’re home to some of the most technologically advanced machinery in the industry. This includes the world’s only thermoregulated horizontal fermenters, which ensure purity, calmness and control during the fermentation process; two bespoke stills from world leaders Forsyth’s in Scotland – a traditional copper ‘Adam’ pot still and an uber-modern small batch ‘Coffey’ column still – that allow us to experiment with the unique spirit profiles each creates; and a unique environmental streams for self-sufficient power and clean outputs.
Upon completion of the tour, you’ll have no doubt worked up a thirst, so you will get to taste the fruits of our labour – and experience the diverse flavour components of Renegade Rum for yourself.
